Nevsehir Mining

Nevşehir province has an important place in the mining area and in the production of construction products such as pumice, briquette and brick, with the 3rd place in Turkey in terms of pumice reserve and with a total pumice reserve amount of 450 million m3.

According to MRE data;

• Kozaklı is rich in terms of marble and limestone,
• Hacıbektaş in terms of marble and brick tile,
• Gülşehir in terms of zeolite and kaolin and rock salt,
• Avanos in terms of sand-gravel and sulfur,
• Ürgüp in terms of diasporite, pumice and marble,
• Nevşehir Central and Derinkuyu in terms of pumice,
• Acıgöl in terms of perlite and pumice.

According to SSI data of 2017, there are 119 companies, 1,864 employees operating in the field of non-metallic products manufacturing, there are 49 companies, 368 people operating in the field of other mining and quarrying, and the total number of employees in the mining sector is 2,232.
